I really need to decorate my bedroom. I want it to be feminine but I don't want my boyfriend to hate it. We both need to be happy.
I really want the room to be relaxing, sensual, and calming. I am not sure what colors to do that with and I am not sure what to do. I am not very good at this decorating stuff. I really need help here.

Look in your closets to see what colors you are both drawn to;
Get deco magazines and look for pictures that you like - don't worry about what it is you like - just pictures that draw you; assemble all those pictures together and determine what thing(s) are common - color?texture?print?furniture style?accesories?. This will help you figure out what styles you're comfortable with as well as a color palette. You can then go lighter or darker in color from that palette to fem/masc it up.

I did English Cottage in my L.R. and my husband loves it. Floral , relatively straight hanging curtains with striped reverse side; a mix of floral, stripe, plaid pillows on a brn leather sofa; plaid chairs - definitely a feminine room that's equally comfortable for men.
