A Look at the Variety of Metal Artwork Worldwide

There are some distinguished categories of artwork include woodcraft, artwork of earthenware, paintings, work on sculpture, textile artwork & stonework. Among them metal artwork is one of the highly recognized & famous category of craftsmen. The metal artwork includes artistic work on metal like iron, copper, silver and alloys like bronze, bell metal, white metal etc.

Various kinds of metals which are used by the craftsmen like iron, copper, silver & alloy metal like bronze, bell metal & white metal. These metals are used to make a several kinds of items like vessels, pans, utensils, various types of photo frames, sculptures of holy personalities, various figures & animals which are related to the mythology. Various types of monument are prepared by taking use of lost wax process. The main starting point of this process is creation of wax model of the monument. The next stage is to cover this model with clay; there are holes which are prepared into clay. At the final stage, at the upper stage the metal which is melted is dispensed through the metal. So the effect of this is that the melting of wax takes place. There is the hollow is substituted the hot metal without any human intervention. Finally cooling process of metal takes place & so the final product of metal work is freed from clay & polished.

We can also prepare of the metal artwork of the desired shape & size by pouring metals in moulds. By taking use of soldering, we can attach various parts of metals which are molded. Various processes like enameling, engraving & damascening are used in metal artwork for beautifying metal objects.

We can see the variety of metal artwork worldwide. In some regions of the India, we can see the conventional vessels which are made up of metal like iron & brass. This can see the traditional household metal artwork like crockery, samovars, dishes & trays. There is one kind of metal artwork called as naquashi. In this metal artwork, the complex design patterns like flower-patterned and calligraphic patterns are printed on copper and silver items. The oxidization process is taken place on these complex patterns which put together the designs to stand out from the background.

Another famous metal artwork includes the artwork on metal like brass. Several types of household crockery items like utensils, trays, and bowls are decorated by taking use of complex etching. The electroplating items of brass & copper & items which are made up of white metals are also included in the metal artwork.

The process like engraving & lacquering of brass metal is important step in metal art work. Items such as various design items like bowls, photo frames, boxes and plates etc. Native patterns and natural scenes etc are printed on the surface.

the artwork like Koftagari is one of the type of the metal artwork. In this artwork, there is the encrustation of one metal; to another which is in the form of wire. The best examples of this work is swords, daggers & shields.

Buying Watercolor Paintings

I've been buying watercolor paintings for decorating jobs.  I've found some really nice pieces on eBay.  I recently bought a watercolor painting by an artist named Y. Gianni.  The painting was produced in 1890 and depicted an Italian village.  It was very vivid and pleasing to look at.

I was trying to find just the right watercolor painting for a client when I came across one by an artist named William B. Gillette.  The colors were pastel, ranging from soft greens, browns, blues, purples and peach.  The scene was that of a pebble beach and crashing waves.  The hills on one side gave the beach a feeling of privacy.  It really spoke to me and my client loved it.

There was a cabin that I was decorating for a discerning client that needed one more piece of art to complete the look I was going for.  I found a wonderful watercolor painting that fit just right.  It had a lot of mossy green colors and there was a lake with a lake house.  The artist turned out to be Charles Dickens Wader.  He is a well known artist from New York.

I have a client that collects art from Romeo Tabuena.  I was fortunate to find two watercolors that the owners had purchased directly from Tabuena in the fifties when they lived in San Miguel.  The owner settled with me for an even thousand dollars.  My client was thrilled.

A lawyer friend of mine hired me to redecorate his office.  I had a lot of fun putting in things that reflected his interests and tastes.  He loves polo and I found a wonderful watercolor painting of two polo players on horses.  My friend liked the paintings and they have become a conversation piece in the new office.

My friend's dad liked the office I decorated so much that he commissioned me to redecorate his office.  He is a hunter and I found a really nice watercolor painting of several mallard ducks flying above a marsh.  The painting was done by Jim Killen and he has painted for Ducks Unlimited.  His work is well known and respected.  My friend's father really liked the find and proudly hung it in his reception area.

I was really unsure where I was going to find suitable art for the program director's office at a local radio station.  When I went to visit with him for a consultation, his office was absolutely stark.  I like watercolor paintings and that is my first choice for buying art.  I found a fantastic watercolor painting of Bob Marley surrounded by sunflowers.  It was awesome and perfect for this job.

There is a musician that I was working for a couple of years ago that wanted their studio decorated with paintings from the artist Raoul Dufy.  Raoul Dufy made a whole series of paintings called Hommage to Mozart.  I was able to purchase three watercolor paintings in this series.  I have always been on the lookout for more paintings to purchase for this client.

A friend of mine asked me to find a watercolor painting to give to her mother.  I found one by Henry H. Parker that was of cattle in landscape.  The frame was what caught my eye at first because it is heavy gilt.  It would never hang in my house, but it looked great at my friend's mother's house.

Different Types of Metal Plating Chemicals

Plating describes surface covering where a metal is deposited on a conductive surface. Plating is used for many purposes, some of them are to decorate objects, corrosion inhibition, solder ability, hardens, improves wear ability, reduce friction, improve paint adhesion, alter conductivity, radiation shielding and for many other purposes. Different types of CA metal plating chemicals are gold plating, silver plating, rhodium plating, chrome plating, zinc plating, tin plating, alloy plating, composite plating, cadmium plating, copper plating, nickel plating, brass plating.

Gold plating means that a thin layer of gold is deposited into the surface of another metal. Mostly it is deposited in copper, silver, and chemicals.  Gold plating is used in electronics, jewelry. Silver plating is mostly used in items like cutlery and candlesticks. Silver is cheaper than gold. So it is used as a replacement for gold. Rhodium plating is used on white gold, silver or copper and its alloys. Chrome plating can be used for decorative purposes, corrosion resistance, and increases hardness. Industrial chromium plating is also known as engineered chrome.

There are two types of industrial chrome plating like hexavalent chromium, and trivalent chromium. Zinc plating involves the electrolytic application of zinc by immersing clean steel parts in a Zinc salt solution and applying an electric current. Tinplate is sheet steel covered with a thin layer of tin. Tinplate is mostly used in the manufacture of tin cans. Tinplate was used for cheap pots, pans and other hollowware. It is not safe to eat food from a rusty tin can. Tinplate has been replaced by galvanized vessels. An electroplated alloy may be solid solution strengthened or precipitation hardened by heat treatment to improve the plating physical and chemical properties. Tungsten carbide, silicon carbide, chromium carbide, and aluminum oxide are commonly used in composite electroplating.

Cadmium plating is used in aerospace fasteners, military and aviation specs. Cadmium plating can be used for corrosion resistance, has relatively low thickness, and for salt atmospheres, lubricity and solder ability.  Cadmium plating is under examination because of the environmental toxicity of the cadmium metal. Different types of nickel plating are bright nickel and semi-bright nickel. Bright nickel plating is used in automotive, electrical, hardware and other industries. Black nickel plating is lustrous and has a black or dark gray color. Plating is done with little or no agitation. Copper plating is the process in which a layer of copper is deposited on the item to be plated by using an electric current. Three basic copper plating are alkaline, acid and mildly alkaline.

Now you need to know what construction suits you. The makeup of a fitted bedroom is usually very similar whoever you purchase this from. A box system and slim frame system usually consists of a group of boxes pre made in the workshop and delivered to site for assembly. The fitters usually level these boxes onto a ready made plinth. All boxes are then screwed together quickly with side gaps being filled with scribed infill pieces to cover any gaps. This is a popular method due to the fact that most items have been assembled in the workshop. This assembly method varies from company to company.

This is usually the fastest method of installation.If you decide to have a home visit from a bedroom company then make sure you ask the right questions of the furniture designer. Ask if its possible to visit a recent installation as this would provide you with an idea of their quality, ask how long the installation will take as sometimes jobs go on forever, ask if you can visit their workshop – don’t just go off their showroom as showrooms are always made to impress, ask how many jobs they install a week as you really want to deal with somebody that’s specializes in fitted bedrooms. Ask what system they use and whether it has backs in.

Be prepared!Usually a reputable company will answer these questions without hesitation. When you make the appointment ask how long the sales person will be in your house. If it’s going to be a hard sell then they’ll prompt that you and the husband must both be present on the night.
