You can go on fishing or hunting outings with your buddies during peak seasons, without caring about having a place to stay. If you wish, you can invest in a boat or fishing tools of your own ( rather than hiring ) so you can entirely enjoy your stay in your cabin. You can find a great cabin in pine city real estate I might biased cause I live there, but it is great.
A cabin house could be a great investment, because if you would not be staying in it, you can hire it out to your buddies or to trusted folks so they can enjoy great holidays just like you. Therefore , your return of investment can triple when you gain more revenue from your 2nd home.

Is there such a thing as "shared ownership" for like vacation homes or any other stuff?
How do these arrangments work? , and are they good or bad idea or what?
I want to buy a cheap vacation home, like a secluded cabin or lodge or something, and im thinking that if im not using it all the time, why not split it?

This can work rather well if you have a good partner. I have a vacation property that I split with a very good friend and we split the property by even and odd weeks (Stated in a contract). This year I have even weeks and next year I'll have odd weeks. And we split the cost of improvements with no problems. We also have a friendly agreement that the other can use the property during the other's week, if they have no intention on using the property.
My cousin does the same thing with a vacation home that he splits with his folks.
However I have also heard of nightmares and this type of thing killing friendships and dividing families. You have to be very careful on who you choose to bring in here and put an agreement on paper.
